Interview

This is the interview done by us as a research to see the user experience about this site. The user's computer literacy is at higher level so interview took place about 7 minutes. In near future we are hoping to write a transcript of this video and come to conclusions by watching his facial expressions time taken to complete a task given etc. Video is with some noises around where it's recorded so  some parts you might not get clearly. We are hoping to try another user too like this.

Tasks should achieve


  • Select the news category clicking the icons
    • New tab should open and displaying the related news.
  • Select the news in order to read
    • Site should open the selected news in details
  • Comment on a selected news
    • Site should show the log in menu of "Facebook" or "Yahoo" if user in not log in already and view the comments and increment the number of comments
  • Edit previous comment of the user
    • Site should end up showing edit, delete button in order to perform and do the task
  • View advertisements
    • Site will open new tab by showing advertised party’s website.   
  • Print or mail a selected news (detailed news)
    • Site will show a new form to perform the task.
  • Write a feed back
    • Site will show a form and end up with submitting Feedback
  • Share news with your friends(by logging into any social media)
    • Site must end up by sharing the news in your social media profile.
  • Search old news according to given time period
    • Site should end up by showing news that published in that given time period
  • Watch speed version of news
    • Site should end by showing latest news about country in brief

Planing on the Project....





The project on the developing the Read Sri Lanka web site  ..


         Read Sri Lanka News Magazine  is one of the most reliable website in Sri Lanka. Latest news in Sinhala and English, Business, political, sports, Arts ,technology etc. are available on this site. this is a web base project and also target the people who refer online  news magazine.

I and my group member has found some sides and some features that should be improved to become the most popular news site .

some of them are ,

  1. Add heading news bar to indicate popular news.
  2. Indicate most read post and most commented post for the top most post.
  3. Add upcoming weather report.
  4. Change the Advertisement position.  
  5. Change the position of search box to top left corner. 
  6. Set up a forum or a link to send users news.
  7. Add more eye cooling colors.
  8. Add separate tab for videos in the main page.
  9. When user opens a tab according to the tittle it must only shows news that relevant to the tittle.
  10. Add "Today's Thinking"  phrase on the cover page.
  11. Correct the alignments in more eye catching way
  12. Select 3 or more tab and other tabs put in a separate main tab.
  13. Add an editorial
